Natural Bridges Formed by Tree In Meghalaya, India

Bridges are typically built by men. You might have heard of natural bridges formed by geological events. However, you ever heard of trees forming bridges? Yes, tree forming bridges. That’s what has been found in the North Eastern Indian state of Meghalaya. In and around Cherapunjee, which is the former wettest place in the world few years ago, these natural tree bridges are found. These bridges are nothing but secondary roots of Ficus Elastica trees which coiled together forms a natural bridge in order to anchor. During monsoon these bridges are even used by tribes in those area. Check the pictures below.
