Review: Tamarind Roof Top Bar, Banaswadi Main Road, Bangalore

Today evening I was at HRBR layout, Bangalore. After enjoying cool breeze at one my friend’s terrace thought of visiting a restaurant/pub around that area. Finally we zeroed on Tamarind Restaurant & Bar. We went to the bar which is located at the 3rd floor (roof top). Its open ventilated with a roof and hence no AC. Once you enter the bar area the counter is on the left hand side. The counter looked nice and eye catching. Sitting arrangement has both chairs and small cushioned sofas.

As this is IPL season, a big projector screen has been setup for showing cricket matches. We sat on the other side of the screen. This place is not high on music and if somebody wants to talk can easily do so. Ambiance is very average and not much happening crowd throng here. Now comes the central part of food and drinks. In terms of beer, mocktails / cocktails or hard liquor their collection is good. In food we ordered Mongolian chicken and Chicken Kabab. Mongolian chicken was high on garlic and should have been named Garlic chicken. The amount of garlic was really high and it did not taste good. The chicken kabab was eatable but was over fried. My neighbourhood kabab guy prepares better kabab than that. The food items have really left me disappointed.

However, I see good reviews about them on Zomato. Not sure if the reviews are cooked or it was plain bad luck on my part. Overall service was cold.
