Mohammadan Watch Tower, Band Tower and Mosque, Hampi
After underground Shiva temple as we went further we came across Noble men’s quarter. It is completely ruined and one will even not think that this was once upon a time, noble men’s quarter. Near the Noble men’s quarter is the Mohammadan Watch Tower. I am not sure why it is called Mohammadan Watch Tower. Maybe after the Muslim conquest of Vijaynagara empire, they have built but I did not found any records there. This watch tower is one of the most ornate watch tower in Hampi.
As we enter the compound of Dannayaka’s enclosure, we first saw the mosque at the left hand side and the band tower on the right hand side. Historians are not sure about the specific usage of this area and differ in their views.
