Hebbal Lake, Bangalore
Hebbal lake is located besides Hebbal flyover at the junction of Bellary road, outer ring road and NH 7. It is said Hebbal lake was created by Kempe Gowda in 1537. It was created by embankment of natural valley systems. It was much larger but encroachments has taken its toll. By the end of the last century the lake was in very bad shape but in 2002 a newly formed Lake Development Authority took the restoration work. Now the Hebbal lake is in better shape with park, parking lot, and sitting benches. On 28th March I visited Hebbal lake with one of my friend with the intention of doing some photography.
We shot some birds including while Crane, a black crane type bird (exact name I am not aware of). two cows etc. The woody environment created suits well for the birds. The lake has fish as well which means ready food for many birds. Good place for bird photography.
The atmosphere is cool and one can sit by the lake side to spend peaceful time.
